  7. asked Ruby.
  8.      "My tears fell like rain," said Del.
  9.      "I'm real glad, though, about that new one -- that Ramma Lamma
  10. Ding Dong fellow," said Ruby.
  11.      "That's Rhama Dhama Dula Shalab," said Del.
  12.      "Shalab, Shabezz, so what?" asked Ruby. "I say we give 'em all
  13. names like Dink. Dink one, Dink two, like that," said Ruby.
  14.      "It would simplify matters," said Del.
  15.      "See, that's the trouble with all this hoo-hah. It ain't that
  16. we can't understand it or control it or nothin'. It's them names.
  17. What's wrong with the world is that there ain't no five cent cigars
  18. and every other body is changing his name to Karim of the Crop, is
  19. what's wrong," said Ruby.
  20.      "So you subscribe to the rose is a rose theory?" asked Del.
  21.      "I don't see anybody's entitled to any bouquets, here," said
  22. Ruby. "It's just plain stupid and confusing, and it clogs up data
  23. banks like crazy for people to have all these different names. Give
  24. 'em all a number or somethin, I say."
  25.      "Ah, but then you'd have that element that contends their
  26. individuality is violated by not having their own personal names,"
  27. said Del.
  28.      "Let 'em eat curry," said Ruby. "The whole trouble with the
  29. world is we got to try and keep up with all this stuff. I say, like
  30. Thoreau, simplify... simplify."
  31.      "And that means giving everybody the same name?"
  32.      "Sort of," said Ruby. "I said they could each have a different
  33. number."
  34.      "But what about that individuality thing?" asked Del.
  35.      "You can be individual with a number," Ruby argued. "For
  36. instance, Dan Quayle could be Dink minus one-half. That Pamela gal
  37. on Baywatch could be Dink 10. Rush Limbaugh could be Dink 86. See
  38. what I mean?
  39.      "It's good for everything. Three faces of Eve could be dink
  40. a trois... 
  41.      "What would you do with a potential hot potato like Louis
  42. Farakhan, though?" asked Del.
  43.      "That's easy," said Ruby. "He can be Dink 19."
